10.08.010 Authority of police.¶

10.08.010 Authority of police. Officers of the police department are authorized to direct all traffic by means of visible or audible signal, and it is unlawful for any person to refuse or fail to comply with any lawful order, signal or direction of a traffic or police officer. It is unlawful for any person to direct or attempt to direct traffic unless authorized to do so by order of the chief of police. (Ord. 728 (part), 2025; Prior code §3601).
10.03015 Obedience to police or authorized officers. No person shall fail or refuse to comply with or to perform any act forbidden by any lawful order, signal or direction of a traffic or police officer, or a member of the fire department, or a person authorized by the chief of police or by law. (Ord. 334 §1, 1973).
10.03.020 Police and fire vehicles. The Provisions of this title regulating the movement, parking and standing of vehicles shall not apply to emergency vehicles of the police, or marshal's office, or of the fire department or of a public utility while the driver of any such vehicle is engaged in the necessary performance of public emergency duties. (Prior code §3606).
10.08.030 Application of California Vehicle Code.¶
A. The provisions of the California Vehicle Code and of this title shall apply to Oak Way from its beginning at the intersection with Winship Avenue and continuing easterly and southeasterly to the end of Oak Way.
B. The provisions of the California Vehicle Code and of this title shall apply to Ivy Drive from its beginning at the intersection of Southwood Avenue to the end thereof.
C. The provisions of the California Vehicle Code and of this title shall apply to the southerly side of Clorinda Avenue lying within the town and lying between the extension of the easterly line of Assessor's Parcel No. 12-242-01 and the extension of the westerly line of Assessor's Parcel No. 12-121-18.
