5.24.010 Permit required.
Public or private property within the town shall not be used for filming motion pictures or television or taking still photographs for commercial purposes, unless a permit therefor has first been obtained from the chief of police in accordance with the most current resolution adopted pursuant to this section. 5.24.020 Exemptions.
(1) Current News. The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to or affect reporters, photographers, or camerapersons in the employ of a newspaper, news service, radio broadcasting station, or similar entity engaged in on-the-spot broadcasting of news events concerning those persons, scenes, or occurrences which are in the news and of general public interest.
(2) Charitable, Educational or Public Purposes. All or any portion of the fee may be waived upon approval by the chief of police and the mayor (or acting mayor) where they find that a production is carried on wholly for charitable purposes from which no profit is derived, including, without limitation, educational or public purposes.
(3) Business License Also Required. The provisions of this chapter are intended to augment, and be in addition to the provisions of Chapter 5.04 of this title so that a license under such chapter is required in addition to the provisions contained in this chapter. 5.24.030 Additional conditions.
The applicant shall comply with whatever provisions the Town Manager, deems necessary to ensure that the film making activities do not unreasonably impede the flow of vehicular traffic, or restrict public access to and from county property, or damage town property. (Ord. 728 (part), 2025; Amended during 1/97 supplement; Ord. 336 §1(part), 1973).
5.24.040 Clean-up.
The applicant shall conduct operations in an orderly fashion with continuous attention to the storage of equipment not in use and the clean-up of

trash and debris. The premises shall be left in a clean condition. In the event the applicant does not comply with these requirements, as determined by the town, the applicant shall pay to the town the cost of necessary clean-up.
