10.04.010 Definitions.¶

10.04.010 Definitions. Whenever the following terms are used in this chapter, they shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this chapter. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.020 Alley. "Alley" means a public highway which does not exceed twenty feet between property lines. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.030 Loading zone. "Loading zone" means that space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers, materials or merchandise. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.040 Pedestrian. "Pedestrian" means any person afoot. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.050 Traffic. "Traffic" means pedestrians and vehicles, either singly or together, while using any street for purposes of travel. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.060 Business district. "Business district" means the territory contiguous to a street when fifty percent or more of the frontage thereon for a distance of three hundred feet or more is occupied by buildings in use for retail or wholesale business; also any territory contiguous to a street which is immediately adjacent to or a continuation to a street within a business district when the territory is so designated by the chief of police. 10.04.070 Park. "Park" means to stand a vehicle for a period of time greater than is reasonably necessary for the actual loading or unloading of persons, materials or merchandise. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.080 Official warning and direction signs and signals. "Official warning and direction signs and signals" mean all warning and direction signs and signals not inconsistent with this chapter heretofore or hereafter placed or erected under this chapter or by authority of the town council. (Prior code §3600 (part)).
10.04.090 State vehicle code definitions apply. Whenever any words or phrases used in this title are not defined herein, but are now defined in the Vehicle Code of this state, such definitions are incorporated herein and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein as though set forth herein in full.
