Editor's note— Section 1 of Ord. No. 2748, enacted Apr. 2, 1974, repealed title 1, div. 2, art. 9, §§ 1-2-103, 1-2-104, pertaining to the service center and derived from the 1961 Code, §§ 12.091 and 12.092. Section 2 of said Ord. No. 2748 provided for a new art. 9, §§ 1-2-103 and 1-2-104 as herein set out.
Sec. 1-2-103. - Establishment of Veterans' Service Office.¶
(a) There is hereby established a Veterans' Service Office with a County Veterans' Service Officer in charge thereof. The County Veterans' Service Officer shall be a veteran.
(b) The Board of Supervisors shall designate as County Veterans' Service Officer a regular County employee who shall serve ex officio and who shall perform the duties of the County Veterans' Service Officer without additional compensation. From time to time the Board of Supervisors may, in its sole discretion, remove said designation from said employee and designate a different regular County employee as the ex officio Veterans' Service Officer.

Sec. 1-2-104. - Duties of County Veteran Service Officer.¶
It shall be the duty of the County Veteran Service Officer to:
(a) Assistance to veterans: Comply with all rules and regulations made by the Board of Supervisors to the end that veterans of all wars and conflicts in which the United States has been engaged may be assisted and guided into the benefits to which they may be entitled under Federal or State laws, rules and regulations and to the end that said veterans or their families may be assisted by way of guidance into the reestablishment of themselves into civilian life and/or enterprise, and to the end that said veterans and/or their families might be guided and referred to the proper governmental and private agencies, both Federal and State, which, under its jurisdiction said veterans and/or their families might secure such assistance, as to help in reestablishing themselves into the economic public or private civilian life.
(b) Coordination of like service offices: Cooperate and coordinate the efforts of the various like service offices of the County of Orange, State of California.
(c) Cooperation with other organizations: Cooperate fully with all organizations such as: The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S., Disabled American Veterans, American Red Cross, California Federation of Women's Clubs, California Veterans Committee, Jewish War Veterans of the United States and other State and Federal Agencies and departments, and public organizations and agencies concerned with veterans' affairs and problems.
