Sec. 1-2-142. - Separation of office from Sheriff.

The office of Tax Collector of the County of Orange is hereby separated from the office of Sheriff of said County, and the duties of said office shall be performed by a separate person.

Sec. 1-2-143. - Consolidation of office of Tax Collector and Treasurer.

Under authority of California Government Code section 24300, the Board of Supervisors hereby consolidates the duties of the offices of Tax Collector and Treasurer.

Sec. 1-2-144. - Tax Collector unpaid checks.

The Treasurer-Tax Collector will collect a fee of twenty-six dollars ($26.00) to cover the costs of making the required notifications, processing the returned unpaid negotiable paper (bad check) in payment of property taxes, and making the required cancellation on the tax roll, pursuant to Section 2509.1 of the California Revenue and Taxation Code.
