Sec. 1-2-129. - Department established.

There shall be a Department of Social Welfare which shall be under the supervision of a Director. The Director shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 1-2-130. - Duties of Director.

It shall be the duty of the Director:

(a) To administer such programs of public assistance as are prescribed by law and by the Board of Supervisors;

(b) To prepare and present such reports as the Board of Supervisors may request;

(c) To make and present to the Board of Supervisors plans and budgets to finance, house, staff and operate the Department of Social Welfare;

(d) To study and evaluate current trends in the field of social welfare and report to the Board of Supervisors with recommendations.

The Board of Supervisors may adopt rules and regulations for the administration of the Department of Social Welfare.
