2.38.010 - Required.¶
Before entering upon the duties of their several offices, the employees and officials of the city, named and designated in this chapter, shall execute to the city and file with the city clerk thereof good and sufficient surety bonds and undertakings, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of their respective offices, in penal sums as set out in Sections 2.38.020 through 2.38.060.

2.38.020 - Chief of police.¶
The chief of police shall file a bond as chief of police in the penal sum of five thousand dollars.

2.38.030 - Finance director/city treasurer.¶
The finance director/city treasurer, including his or her duties as tax collector, shall file a bond in the penal sum of fifty thousand dollars.

2.38.040 - City clerk.¶
The city clerk, pursuant to Section 36518 of the Government Code of the state of California, shall file a bond in the penal sum of twenty-five thousand dollars as recommended by the city attorney.

Editor's note— Section 1(O) of Ord. No. 1145, adopted Oct. 2, 2012, deleted § 2.38.050, city treasurer, which had derived from prior code § 1214.
2.38.060 - Police desk sergeant.¶
The police desk sergeant shall file a bond in the penal sum of five thousand dollars, as police desk sergeant and as ex officio clerk of the city court.
