Calexico Municipal Code Ch. 2.06 City Council—salaries

The ordinance codified in this chapter is enacted pursuant to Sections 36516 and 36516.2 of the Government Code, as added by Chapter 591 of the Statutes of 1972, authorizing the council to provide by ordinance that each member of the council shall receive a prescribed salary.

Prior to the date of passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter, the last adjustment in salary for council members was made in July of 2006.

Each member of the city council shall receive, as salary, the sum of six hundred five dollars per month, which shall be payable the first payroll of each month. The stated increase shall not take effect until at least one council member has begun a new term of office in the year of 2008.

The salaries prescribed in this chapter are and shall be exclusive of any amounts payable to each member of the council as reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by him/her in the performance of official duties for the city.
