610.8 Size of Meter and Building Supply Pipe UsingTable 610.4.

The size of the meter and the building supply pipe shall be determined as follows: (1) Determine the available pressure at the water meter or
other source of supply.

Maximum velocities in copper and copper alloy tube and fitting systems shall not exceed 8 feet per second (ft/s) (2.4 m/s) in cold water and 5 ft/s (1.5 m/s) in hot water. 610.12.2 Tubing Systems Using Copper Fittings. Maximum velocities through copper fittings in tubing other than copper shall not exceed 8 ft/s (2.4 m/s) in cold water and 5 ft/s (1.5 m/s) in hot water.
