8.16.010 - Cemetery use prohibited.¶
A.
There has been presented to the council evidence, both oral and documentary, concerning the conditions of the cemeteries within the city and the conditions of the graves, tombstones and general surroundings thereof in the cemetery.

After considering the evidence and investigating the conditions, the council now finds and determines that the burial of the human dead in the Mount Olive Cemetery and the Clark Cemetery, located on West Broadway Street in the city, is dangerous and detrimental to the life, health, peace and safety of the citizens of this city, and that burials within the city should be discontinued and prohibited.

8.16.020 - Findings.¶
The burial of the human dead within the corporate limits of the city is found to be and is declared to be dangerous and detrimental to public health, peace and safety of the citizens of the city and the continued burial of the human dead within the corporate limits of the city will greatly impair the public health, peace and safety of the citizens.

8.16.030 - Burials prohibited.¶
Except as provided in this chapter, no person shall, either directly or indirectly bury or inter the dead body of any person in any cemetery, grave, burial ground or other place within the corporate limits of the city.
