5-9-1: SHORT TITLE:¶
This chapter may be cited as the TAFT FIRE CODE. (Ord. 696-02, 10-1-2002)
5-9-2: ADOPTION OF CODE:¶
These regulations known as the “California Fire Code,” 2025 Edition, California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 9, which incorporate by adoption the 2024 International Fire Code, with necessary California amendments, including appendix chapters and local amendments adopted by Chapter 17.32 Fire Code of the Code of Building Regulations of Kern County, and as published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted and made part of this Chapter by reference with the same force and effect as if fully set forth herein.
This adoption also incorporates the latest CalFire State Responsibility Area (SRA) Fire Hazard Severity Zones and associated maps, as applicable within the City of Taft, to ensure compliance with fire hazard mitigation and building safety requirements.
