3.55.010 - Fees.¶
In accordance with the authority provided by law, the division of mediation services in the Marin County residents service office are authorized to charge the following fees:
(a) Filing Fee. Opening of case—Ten dollars per case.
(b) Mediation. The parties to the mediation shall pay the costs of such mediation equally based on their ability to pay, but in no event shall the fee exceed the cost of providing the service. Payment shall be based on the following sliding scale for annual income:

| 60,001—70,000 | 60.00 |
| 70,001—100,000 | 70.00 |
| 100,000 + | 80.00 |
(c) Divorce Mediation/Property Settlement. Costs shall be paid per the annual income guidelines per party set forth above.
(d) Rental Property Inspections.
(1) Fifty dollars per hour inspection.
(2) Twenty dollars per second inspection, same unit.
(e) Homebuyers/Homesellers. Sixty dollars per hour per party.
(f) Tree Disputes. Fifty dollars per hour, with a fifty dollars minimum charge.
(g) Arbitrations. One hundred fifty dollars per party per half day.
(1) Each subsequent hearing. One hundred fifty dollars per party.
(2) Postponement. Seventy-five dollars to be paid by party causing postponement.
(h) In the event of recovery of security deposit, rent recoveries or other monetary recoveries, the division of mediation services shall be entitled to five percent of the amount recovered provided, however, that in no event shall said amount exceed the hourly rate of the personnel of the division applied to the individual case.
(i) Any individual, or member of a family, currently receiving public assistance support payments shall be exempt from the payment of any fees.
