3.34.010 - Title report fee.

In accordance with the authority provided under the provisions of Government Code Section 54985, the fee to determine the name and mailing address of parties of interest to property which is tax defaulted subject to the tax collector's power of sale, is increased in addition to the amounts provided for in Revenue and Taxation Code Sections 4112 and 4672.2 to include the county tax collector's actual costs to obtain a title report for each property subject to tax sale.

Title costs as incurred shall be added to the amount necessary to redeem tax defaulted property. Falling redemption, the costs shall be deducted from the tax sale proceeds. Title report fees obtained as added amounts necessary to redeem tax defaulted property shall be distributed to the county general fund in accordance with the provisions of Revenue and Taxation Code Section 4112 (a) (1). Title report fees obtained as amounts deducted from tax sale proceeds which are not redeemed shall be distributed to the county general fund in accordance with the provisions of Revenue and Taxation Code Section 4672.2.
