3.31.010 - Payment of additional recording and/or filing fees to defray cost.

Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code § 27361.4, the county recorder shall charge, in addition to all other authorized fees, a fee of one dollar for the recording or filing of every instrument, paper, or notice for record. The proceeds of such fees shall be used to defray the cost of converting the county recorder's document storage system to microfiche. Upon completion of the conversion and payment of the costs therefor, such additional fee shall no longer be imposed.

3.31.020 - Fee for filing request for recorder notification of recorded notice of completion or cessation.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 27361.9, a filing fee of fifty dollars shall be charged for each request for notification of preliminary twenty-day notice filed pursuant to Civil Code Section 3097.

The assessor-recorder shall regularly review the relationship between actual fee revenue and the actual costs to implement Civil Code Section 3097, and may adjust the fee up to seventy dollars to assure that it fully and exclusively defrays actual costs related to Civil Code Section 3097. A fee greater than seventy dollars shall require the approval of the board of supervisors.

3.31.030 - Computation of fees.

The board of supervisors finds and determines that the costs set forth in Section 3.31.020 are the reasonable costs to the assessor-recorder in implementing and maintaining a system to facilitate compliance with paragraph (2) of subdivision (o) of Section 3097 of the Civil Code.
