Sec. 5.430. Creation and Administration of the Fund.

(a) There is hereby created and established within the Treasury of the City of Los Angeles a special trust fund to be known as “City Attorney’s Consumer Protection Prosecution Trust Fund”, hereinafter referred to in this chapter as the “Fund”.

(b) All grants or other forms of payment received from other governmental entities for the purpose of funding witness expenses and other types of expenses in consumer protection cases prosecuted by the City Attorney’s office shall be placed in the Fund. Expenditures from the Fund shall be authorized by the City Attorney or the City Attorney’s authorized designee thereof within established City practices. At the conclusion of a particular case any remaining moneys withdrawn from the Fund are to be returned to the Fund.
