Los Angeles Municipal Code Ch. 39 Lopez Canyon Community Amenities Trust Fund

Section 5.407 Creation of the Fund. 5.408 Purpose of the Fund.

There is hereby created within the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Los Angeles a Fund, which is known as the “ Lopez Canyon Community Amenities Trust Fund,” referred to in this chapter as the “Fund.”

The Fund may be used for the purpose of financing community amenities within the City of Los Angeles in the vicinity of the Lopez Canyon landfill. The Fund may also be used for the purposes of financing community amenities in recreation areas outside the City limits, only if the County provides matching funds for a particular improvement project at a particular facility. For each project so requested, the City Council must adopt a finding that due to the fact said facility is in close proximity to the Lopez Canyon landfill and is utilized by City residents an expenditure of funds outside the City for the suggested project would be for a legitimate public purpose.

The City Clerk is hereby directed to request annual appropriations to the Fund in the amount of $1 million from the City budgets for Fiscal Years 1992-93, 1993-94, and 1994-95.

Appropriations from the Fund shall be authorized upon recommendation by the Councilperson of the district, only by the City Council, by resolution on a project-by-project basis, and shall be used exclusively for purposes set forth in Chapter 39, Sec. 5.408.
