14-17.1101 Number of off-street parking spaces required.

The number of off-street parking spaces required for each of the following uses shall be as follows:

(a) 70 Playgrounds and playfields at public schools: (not applicable)
(b) 71 Public schools: (1) Elementary and junior high: 1 space per employee, plus public space equal to 20 (2) High schools: 1 space per employee, plus 1 space per 7 student classroom seats (3) Colleges and universities: 1 space per 3 student classroom seats
(c) 72 Other schools: (1) Trade, vocational, and business, not otherwise listed: 1 space per employee, plus 1 space per 3 student classroom seats (2) Parochial and private schools and academies: 1 space per employee, plus 1 space per 7 student classroom seats (3) Child care nurseries: 3 spaces, plus 1 for each 10 children over a capacity of 15 (4) Private colleges and universities: 1 space per 3 student classroom seats
(d) 73 Government buildings: State, County, and local government: (1) Governmental administrative: 1 space per each 500 square feet gross floor area, plus public spaces determined by the City (2) Civil defense and police and fire stations: 1 space per each 300 square feet gross floor area
(e) 74 Public buildings, Federal: (1) Post offices and Federal offices: 1 space for each Federal vehicle, plus 1 space per each 3 employees plus 1 space per each 300 square feet over 4,000 square feet (2) Correctional institutions: 1 space per each 2 employees, plus public space determined by the City
(f) 75 Hospitals: (1) Hospitals, general: 1 space per 1.5 beds, plus 1 space per each staff doctor, plus 1 space for each employee on the shift with the maximum number of personnel (2) Hospitals, extended care: 1 space per 5 beds, plus 1 space per 2 employees (3) Hospitals, convalescent (or nursing homes): 1 space per 5 beds, plus 1 space per each 2 employees (4) Medical clinics, public: 1 space per each 200 square feet of floor area
(g) 76 Churches: (1) Churches, chapels, temples, and synagogues: 1 space per each 4 seats (2) Convents, monasteries, and nunneries: 1 space per each 600 square feet of floor space (3) Rectories and parish houses: 1 space per each 600 square feet of floor space
(h) 77 Other quasi-public buildings: (1) Museums, art galleries, and historic sites: 1 space per each 800 square feet (2) Libraries: 10 spaces, plus 1 space per each 300 square feet of floor area over 3,000 square feet
(i) 78 Military bases: (not applicable)
(j) 79 Nonprofit organizations, offices, and facilities: (1) Private clubs, (except health spas and gymnasia), lodges, political organizations, and union halls: for floor area devoted to public assembly, 1 space for each 35 square feet of floor area if without fixed seats and 1 space for each 5 seats if with fixed seats (2) Business and trade association offices: 1 space per employee, plus public space, 1 space for each 300 square feet (3) Social service and welfare organizations: 1 space per each 300 square feet of floor area (4) Charitable and nonprofit organizations: 1 space per employee, plus public space to be determined by the City (5) Church organizations and missions: 1 space per employee, plus public space, 1 space for each 300 square feet (6) Health spas and gymnasia: 10 spaces, plus 1 space for each 200 square feet floor area in excess of 1,000 square feet, excluding outdoor swimming pools which require parking per Section 9-3.1001(f)(8) of Article 10 of Chapter 9-3 of this Code.
