8.58.010 - Private parking lot traffic regulations.¶
A. The city council of the city of Vallejo does hereby find and declare that certain privately owned and maintained off-street parking lots and facilities, as said parking lots and facilities are described in Resolution No. 77-367 N.C., and amendments from time to time made thereto, located within the city are generally held open for use of the public for purposes of vehicular parking. Upon the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter, Sections 22350 (Basic Speed Law), 22507.8 (Parking in Spaces Designated for a Disabled Person Prohibited), 23103 (Reckless Driving), and 23109 (Speed Contests and Exhibitions of Speed) of the Vehicle Code of the state shall apply to such privately owned and maintained off-street parking lots and facilities when the owner or operator has caused to be posted in a conspicuous place at each entrance to such off-street parking lot or facility a notice not less than seventeen inches by twenty-two inches in size, with lettering not less than one inch in height, to the effect that such off-street parking lot or facility is subject to public traffic regulations and control.
B. In addition to the foregoing, in order for Section 22507.8 of said Vehicle Code to be applicable, there shall be posted immediately adjacent to and visible from each stall or space designated for physically handicapped persons a sign consisting of a profile view of a wheelchair with occupant in white on a blue background. Further, such space or stall shall also have blue curb or space markings, or both. It shall be the responsibility of the owners of said privately owned and maintained off-street parking lots and facilities at their own cost and expense to furnish, install and maintain, in a manner satisfactory to the traffic engineer of the city of Vallejo, all required signs and markings.
