8.26.010 - Establishment.

By resolution, the city council may establish a parking program to regulate parking on public parking lots and facilities and on streets maintained by the city. Written rules and regulations governing the parking program, including the sale of permits, shall be established by the city council and published in the city of Vallejo Parking Program. The city manager is authorized to update the city of Vallejo Parking Program from time to time to avoid conflict with existing ordinances, resolutions, or applicable state law. The rules and regulations shall be made available to persons issued a parking permit. It shall be unlawful for any person to whom a parking permit has been issued to willfully fail to comply with any of the rules and regulations.

8.26.020 - Restrictions.

No person shall stand, stop or park a vehicle, trailer, boat, or motor-driven cycle [in a] parking lot, unless the owner or operator of the vehicle, trailer, boat, or motor-driven cycle has paid the required fee, as defined by resolution for the established parking permit system.

8.26.030 - Police powers.

A police officer is empowered to remove or cause to be removed to the nearest available public or private garage or other place of safety, or to a garage designated or maintained by the city, any vehicle, boat, trailer, or motor-driven cycle, that is stopped, standing, or parked on a parking lot for a period of time in excess of twenty-four hours without having obtained from the city a parking permit or having paid fees as established by Section 8.20.200, when authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof. Upon any such removal, the provisions of Article 3 (Procedure to Remove and Store Vehicles), Chapter 10, Division 11 (Sections 22850—22856) of the Vehicle Code of the state of California shall apply.
