ELECTIONS WITH STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTIONS

The municipal election held on the second Tuesday of April in even numbered years before the effective date of the ordinance codified in this section, is consolidated with the statewide general election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even numbered year pursuant to Government Code Section 36503.5. This consolidation shall become operative with the municipal and general statewide elections held in the year 1992. (Ord. 474 § 1 (part), 1991)

Those city officers whose terms will otherwise expire in April, 1992, shall continue in their offices until no later than the fourth Tuesday after the date of the municipal election held in conjunction with the statewide general election in 1992 and until their successors are elected and qualified. (Ord. 474 § 1 (part), 1991)

Within thirty days after the ordinance codified in this chapter becomes effective under the provisions of Section 2.03.030, the city clerk shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered voters of the change in election date. The notice shall also inform voters that as a result of the change in election date, elected city officeholders' terms in office will be extended as provided by law. (Ord. 474 § 1 (part), 1991)
