6.64.010 - Required to work on roads.

Whenever hereafter there are four or more prisoners confined in the county jail of Marin County under judgment of conviction of misdemeanor they shall be worked upon the public streets and highways of Marin County in Road District No. 1 and in the town of San Rafael.

6.64.020 - Hours of work.

Such prisoners shall be worked eight hours per day from eight a.m. to twelve noon and from one p.m. to five p.m. under the direction of the road overseer of Road District No. 1 of Marin County.

6.64.030 - Road overseer to designate work.

The road overseer shall in working such prisoners require them to do the work which is deemed by him most necessary either within his road district or within the corporate limits of the town of San Rafael provided that for any superintendence or other expenses of working such prisoners within said corporate limits such road overseer shall look solely to the said town.

6.64.040 - Duty of sheriff.

The sheriff of Marin County is hereby authorized and directed to do everything necessary to fully carry out the provisions of Sections 6.64.010 through 6.64.030.

6.64.050 - Feasibility of work furlough rehabilitation law.

The board of supervisors of Marin County finds, on the basis of local employment and education conditions, the state of the county jail facilities, and other pertinent circumstances considered by this board, that the operation of Section 1208 of the California Penal Code providing for the operation of the work furlough rehabilitation law for county jail prisoners insofar as it relates to both employment and education is feasible.

6.64.060 - Probation officer administrator.

The probation officer is designated the officer who shall perform the functions of work furlough administrator.
