6.44.010 - Prohibited areas—Penalty for violation.¶

Every person who shall within the Marin County court house at San Rafael, California, or within the court house grounds immediately surrounding said court house or within the confines of any other county office, whether the same be situated within or without said court house, solicit any contributions for any purpose whatsoever or who shall sell, offer for sale or attempt to sell any tickets, merchandise, chances or lotteries or other things of value, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by the imposition of a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed thirty days or by both such fine and imprisonment.

6.44.020 - Charitable organizations, farm produce exceptions—Permit required.¶

Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 6.44.010 hereof, it shall be lawful, upon obtaining a permit so to do, for any person to solicit contributions for any recognized charitable organizations or for any person to sell farm produce actually produced by such person. Application for such permit shall be filed in the office of the county administrator who shall investigate the circumstances surrounding such application and shall render a report on such application to the board of supervisors who shall either grant or deny such permit.

6.44.030 - Business exceptions.¶

The provisions of this chapter shall not be deemed to prohibit persons representing bona fide business firms from selling, offering for sale and soliciting orders for county supplies within the confines of said court house, court house grounds or other county offices.
