6.04.010 - Engaging in or supporting prostitution.

It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or carry on, or become an inmate of, or a visitor to, or to in any way contribute to the support of any house of ill fame or prostitution in the county of Marin, or to aid, or assist, or be engaged in carrying on or causing prostitution, or to induce, or attempt to induce, by any solicitation, prostitution to be carried on in any house, room or place in the county of Marin, or to solicit by word, act, gesture, sign or otherwise, any person for the purpose of prostitution, regardless of where it is to be carried on.

6.04.020 - Lodging houses to keep register —Use of rooms for immoral purposes prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person in the county of Marin engaged in conducting any lodging house, rooming house, apartment house, or hotel, to permit any person to lodge therein without first requiring said person to sign his or her true name and address in a register and/or index kept for that purpose, which said register and/or index shall be kept in the said lodging house, rooming house, apartment house or hotel, and in a place where it is subject to and available for immediate inspection by any peace officer of the county of Marin at all times, of the day or night, or to let any room therein for the purpose of prostitution or any other immoral or illegal purpose, or to allow any room to be so used, or for any person occupying any room in any lodging house, rooming house, apartment house or hotel to refuse to register his or her true name as therein provided, or to enter such room for the purpose of prostitution or for any other immoral or illegal purpose.

6.04.030 - Inspection of register and premises.

It shall be unlawful for any person conducting any lodging house, rooming house, apartment house or hotel to refuse to allow any peace officer of the county of Marin to enter and inspect the register and/or index in which lodgers, roomers or guests are required to register and/or the premises in which said register and/or index is located.

6.04.040 - Penalty for violation.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
