6.40.010 - Permit required.

It is unlawful for any person to engage for profit in the practice of palmistry or fortune-telling, by any means whatsoever, without first securing a permit in accordance with the provisions of Section 5.04.030 of this code. Said permit shall also be subject to the provisions of Sections 5.04.040—5.04.090 of the code.

6.40.020 - Penalty for violation.

Any person, persons, firm, association, corporation or partnership violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not less than one hundred dollars and not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term of not more than six months, or by both said fine and imprisonment.
