10.36.010 - Sign installation authorized.¶
A. Whenever any laws or regulations of this town or the California Vehicle Code designate and describe any city street or portion thereof as a through street, or any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the traffic engineer shall erect and maintain stop signs as set forth in this chapter and in the California Vehicle Code.
B. For purposes of this section and California Vehicle Code Section 21354, "through streets" and "entrances" to street intersections and "stop intersections" include all the streets and parts of streets and intersections and entrances thereto that have been established by resolution of the city council.

10.36.020 - Major city streets.¶
The traffic engineer is authorized to cause stop signs to be erected at those entrances to street intersections in town as necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of persons using the streets in town. Every stop sign shall conform with and be placed as provided in the California Vehicle Code.

10.36.030 - Through streets.¶
Those streets and parts of streets established by resolution of the city council are through streets for the purposes of this chapter. The provisions for stops as required in this chapter shall also apply at any one or more of the entrances to the intersections as such entrances and intersections may be established by resolution of the city council.
