10.64.010 - Lost/found—Notification, delivery to police department.

In case any bicycle is lost or stolen, the owner or person in control thereof may notify the police department. Bicycles found by persons other than the owner shall be delivered immediately to the Hillsborough police department.

10.64.020 - Lost/found—Stolen—Sale.

A. At least once each two years, the police department shall dispose of all lost, stolen or found and unclaimed bicycles and miscellaneous parts and equipment, which have remained unclaimed for a minimum of twelve months prior to sale.

B. Sale of lost, stolen or found property shall be made to the highest bidder at a public auction.

10.64.030 - License—Issuance.

A. Any resident of the town may make written application to the Central County Fire for a bicycle license and, upon payment of a nominal license fee in the amount established from time to time by resolution of the city council, shall be issued a bicycle license by the Central County Fire.

B. If the bicycle does not already have a Hillsborough bicycle license plate, the Central County Fire shall attach a metallic license plate to the frame of the licensed bicycle. If the bicycle already has such a license plate, the Central County Fire shall attach a renewal seal to the license plate.

10.64.040 - Bicycle licensing records.

The Central County Fire shall forward the record of each bicycle licensing to the Hillsborough police department, which shall maintain such records.

10.64.050 - License plates—Removal prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person to wilfully or maliciously remove, destroy, mutilate or alter any bicycle metallic license plate or seal or the numbers thereon, during the time that the plate or seal is valid.
