10.20.010 - Placement authority—Obedience required.

The chief of police is empowered to authorize the placing of markers, buttons or signs within or adjacent to intersections indicating the course to be traveled by vehicles turning at such intersections, and the chief of police is empowered to authorize the allocation and indication of more than one lane of traffic from which drivers of vehicles may make right-hand or left-hand turns, and the course to be traveled as so indicated may conform to or be other than as prescribed by law.

When authorized markers, buttons or other indications are placed within an intersection indicating the course to be traveled by vehicles turning thereat, no driver of a vehicle shall disobey the directions of such indications.

10.20.020 - Restricted turn intersections.

A. The chief of police is authorized to determine those intersections at which drivers of vehicles shall not make a right or left turn or a U-turn, and shall authorize the placing of proper signs at such intersections. The making of such turns may be prohibited between certain hours of any day and permitted at other hours, in which event the same shall be plainly indicated on the signs or they may be removed when such turns are permitted.

B. Whenever authorized signs are erected indicating that no right or left turn or U-turn is permitted, no driver of a vehicle shall disobey the directions of any such sign.

C. No driver of a vehicle shall make a right turn against a red or stop signal at any of the following places:

At any intersection which is signposted giving notice of such restriction as provided in this section.

D. The chief of police shall authorize the posting of appropriate signs giving effect to this section at any intersection where he determines that the making of right turns against a traffic signal "stop" indication would seriously interfere with the safe and orderly flow of traffic or movement of pedestrians.
