2-1 - Office hours generally.¶
Except as otherwise provided by law or by resolution of the board of supervisors, county offices shall be open for the transaction of business every day except Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays and at such other specifically designated times as may be required by law. Upon consideration of the public need, budgetary limitations, staffing levels and the desirability of coordinating the times during which various departments are available to the public, the board of supervisors may, by resolution, specify those hours during which individual departments will be open to the public. Absent such a specification, all county offices shall be open for the transaction of business from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the days previously specified herein.

2-2 - Training of law enforcement officers—Aid from state.¶
The county declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the state under the provisions of chapter 1 of title 4, part 4 of the state Penal Code.

2-3 - Same—Standards for recruiting and training.¶
Pursuant to section 13522 of the state Penal Code, the county while receiving aid from the state pursuant to chapter 1 of title 4, part 4 of the State Penal Code will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the state commission on peace officer standards and training.

2-4 - Application of state law relating to law libraries.¶
Sections 6300 to 6365 of the Business and Professions Code of the state, relating to county law libraries shall apply to the county.

2-5 - Affidavit of certain officers authorized to be taken by agent or assistant.¶
Pursuant to section 24355.1 of the Government Code, the affidavit required of each officer of Butte County authorized to collect money by Government Code section 24354, and the affidavit required of each officer of Butte County not authorized to collect money by Government Code section 24355, may be taken and subscribed by a deputy, designated agent or assistant of said officer.

No. 520, § 3, and § 2-6, relating to the duration of permits, derived from Ord. No. 615, § 1. Section 2 of Ord. No. 2080 enacted a new § 2-5. Section 1 of Ord. No. 2197, adopted Mar. 17, 1981, added a new § 2-6.
2-6 - Disposition of unpaid warrants.¶
Any warrant which has been canceled by reason of not being presented to the Butte County Treasurer for payment within six (6) months of issuance and has not been presented to the Butte County Auditor/Controller for payment within two (2) years and six (6) months of its date of issue, may be presented to the Butte County Board of Supervisors by the payee or signee within three (3) years of the date of issue. The board may adopt an order instructing the Butte County Auditor/Controller to draw a new warrant in favor of the payee or signee in the same amount as the original warrant if the board determines that it would be inequitable or unreasonable, under the facts of the individual case, not to do so, and that money is available in the county treasury to pay the warrant. Any warrant which is issued pursuant to this section shall be subject to the same limitations as the original warrant which it replaces.

2-7 - County counsel—Creation of office.¶
The office of county counsel is hereby created pursuant to section 27640 of the Government Code of the state.

2-8 - Same—Term of office.¶
In accordance with section 27641 of the Government Code of the state, the county counsel shall serve for four (4) years from the time of his appointment and until a successor is appointed.

2-8.1 - Same—To act as attorney for public administrator.¶
On or before July 1, 1964, the county counsel shall act as attorney for the public administrator in all estates in which the public administrator is executor, administrator with the will annexed or the administrator. In such matters, the county counsel shall collect the attorney's fees allowed by law and pay them into the county treasury.

2-10 - Constabulary department—Composition.¶
The constabulary department shall consist of the sheriff and all the constables in the county who are made, by the Charter of the county, ex officio deputy sheriffs.

2-11 - Same—Duties.¶
The duties of the officers of the constabulary department are each defined in the Charter of the county and the general laws of the state.

2-11.1 - Juror fees.¶
(a) Civil cases. In accordance with California Code of Civil Procedure section 196, as amended by the Statutes of 1987, chapter 134, the fee for trial jurors in the superior and municipal courts, in civil cases, is five dollars ($5.00) a day for each day's attendance as a juror; and trial jurors in the superior and municipal courts shall be reimbursed for mileage at the rate of fifteen cents ($0.15) per mile for each mile actually traveled in attending court as a juror, in going only.
(b) Criminal cases. In accordance with California Penal Code section 1143, as amended by the Statutes of 1987, chapter 134, the fee for trial jurors in the superior and municipal courts, in criminal cases, is five dollars ($5.00) for each day's attendance; and trial jurors in the superior and municipal courts shall be reimbursed for mileage at the rate of fifteen cents ($0.15) per mile for each mile necessarily traveled in attending court, in going only.

2-11.3 - County clerk-recorder fees.¶
The Butte County Clerk-Recorder is authorized to charge, in addition to any other fees required by the County of Butte or the State of California, fees for services as adopted by Resolution of the Board of Supervisors as part of the Butte County Master Fee Schedule.

2-11.4 - County clerk-registrar of voters fees.¶
The Butte County Clerk-Registrar of Voters is authorized to charge, in addition to any other fees required by the County of Butte or the State of California, fees for services as adopted by Resolution of the Board of Supervisors as part of the Butte County Master Fee Schedule.
