Editor's note— Section 1 of Ord. No. 2998, adopted April 21, 1992, amended Art. V to read as herein set out. Formerly, Art. V consisted of §§ 2-26 and 2-26.1, which pertained to judicial districts and derived from § 2 of Ord. No. 723; § 1 of Ord. No. 1103, adopted July 28, 1970; § 1 of Ord. 2-26 - North county and south county judicial districts; descriptions.¶
The legal descriptions of the north county judicial district and the south county judicial district created by article 37 (commencing with section 74934) of chapter 10 of title 8 of the Government Code, as enacted by chapter 592 of the statutes of 1986 and made operative by Resolution 87-17 passed and adopted on February 3, 1987 by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, are as follows:
The north county judicial district shall include all lands within the County of Butte lying north and west of the following described line:
Beginning at the centerline of Butte Creek and its point of intersection with the east-west centerline of section 34, T2ON, R1E; thence easterly along said centerline 5.4 miles, more or less, to the west quarter corner of section 34, T2ON, R2E; thence southerly 0.5 mile, more or less, to the southwest corner of said section; thence easterly along the section line 4 miles, more or less, to the northwest corner of section 6, T19N, R3E; thence northerly along range line 6 miles, more or less, to the northwest corner of section 6 of T2ON, R3E; thence easterly along the township line 5.8 miles, more or less, to the southwest corner of section 31, T21N, R4E; thence northerly 1 mile, more or less, to the northwest corner of said section; thence northeasterly and diagonally through northeast corners of sections 30 and 20 of said township to the center of the west branch of Feather River; thence southeasterly down center of said river to the line common to sections 22 and 23 of said township; thence northerly 2 miles, more or less, along section line to the northwest corner of section 11 of said township; thence easterly 1.5 miles, more or less, along section lines to quarter corner common to sections 1 and 12 of said township; thence northerly 11 miles, more or less, along quarter section line to quarter corner common to sections 12 and 13, T23N, R4E; thence easterly 6.5 miles, more or less, along section lines to the easterly boundary of Butte County.
The south county judicial district shall include all lands within the County of Butte lying south and east of the above described line.

2-26.2 - Location of court sessions within educational institutions.¶
The north and south county judicial districts may from time to time within their respective districts for which each court is established, designate locations within public and private educational institutions wherein their departments may conduct sessions.
