2-44 - Office created.¶
The office of public guardian for the county is hereby created.

2-45 - Appointment of public guardian; term; salary.¶
The public guardian shall be appointed by the board of supervisors to serve at the will of the board at a salary to be determined by the board.

2-46 - Bond required.¶
Pursuant to division 8 of the State Welfare and Institutions Code, the public guardian shall file an official bond in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00).

2-49 - Expenses.¶
Necessary expenses of the public guardian may be paid or incurred by him in any guardianship proceeding, and when so paid or incurred shall become a county charge; but any such expense shall be reimbursed to the county insofar as funds are or become available therefor in the guardianship estate to which said expenses appertain.

2-50 - Attorney for public guardian.¶
The county counsel shall act as attorney for the public guardian; provided, however, that should the county become involved in litigation with a ward or proposed ward of the public guardian, the county counsel shall refrain from representing the public guardian in such instance.

2-52 - Functions, duties, powers and obligations.¶
The functions, duties, powers and obligations of the public guardian shall be as prescribed in division 8 of the State Welfare and Institutions Code, except as hereinabove otherwise expressly provided.
