2.44.010 - Created—Membership—Terms—Vacancies.¶
There is hereby created a city planning commission for the city of Vallejo to consist of seven members who shall be nominated by any councilman or the mayor of the city of Vallejo and shall be appointed by the city council for terms of four years, and thereafter until their successors are appointed. No member may hold office longer than a total of eight years. The present members of said commission shall continue to serve for the terms to which they were appointed. If a vacancy shall occur otherwise than by expiration of term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term by the city council in the same manner as an original appointment.

2.44.020 - Removal of members—Compensation.¶
Any appointed member of the planning commission may be removed by the city council of the city of Vallejo. Each member of the commission shall be paid the sum of twenty-five dollars for each meeting the member attends, from and after July 1, 1974, provided that such payments shall not exceed the sum of fifty dollars in any calendar month.

2.44.030 - Chairman—Meetings—Officers and employees.¶
The commission shall elect a chairman from among the appointed members for a term of one year, and subject to other provisions of law may elect such other officers as it may determine. The commission shall hold at least three regular meetings each quarter and shall adopt rules for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions, transactions, findings and determinations, which record shall be a public record. The commission shall appoint such officers and employees and contract for such services as it may deem necessary for the accomplishment of its work subject to all provisions of law and provided that all expenditures of the commission, exclusive of gifts, shall be within the amounts appropriated for the purpose by the city council.

2.44.040 - Adoption of comprehensive general plan.¶
It shall be the function and duty of the planning commission to make and adopt, subject to the provisions of law, a comprehensive, long-term general plan for the physical development of the city, and of any land outside the bounces thereof, which in the commission's judgment there is relation to the planning of the city.

2.44.050 - Powers and duties.¶
The planning commission shall have such other powers and duties as are prescribed by law and shall be governed by the procedures provided by law.
