2.04.010 - Compliance with Charter.

In compliance with Section 1100 of the Charter of the city of Vallejo, notice shall be published of the enactment of ordinances, invitations to bid and award of contracts, notices of intention to grant franchises, holding of elections and other matters requiring public notice in accordance with the Charter of the city of Vallejo, any ordinance enacted pursuant thereto, or general state law in the manner, at the times, and under the conditions set forth in Sections 2.04.020 and 2.04.030.

2.04.020 - Notice of ordinances.

A summary of the text of all ordinances and amendments to ordinances shall upon their enactment be published in the official newspaper of the city of Vallejo. Notice of the enactment of each ordinance shall be given by the city clerk by publication of a summary fairly and accurately describing the substance and content thereof in the official newspaper of the city of Vallejo at least once within fifteen days after its final passage. The notice shall inform the public that the full text of the ordinance is on file in the office of the city clerk, and may be examined or copies thereof obtained during regular business hours. Except as provided in Sections 312 and 316 of the Charter of the city of Vallejo, an ordinance shall not take effect or be valid unless it is published in substantially the manner and at the time required in this section.

2.04.030 - Notice of other matter.

In each instance where by reason of the provisions of the Charter of the city of Vallejo, any ordinance adopted pursuant thereto, or general state law, notice is required to be given to the public, or any segment of the public, it shall be given by publication in the manner, at the times, and under the conditions specified in the applicable provisions of the Charter, ordinance, or general state law, as the case may be. If the manner, times, or conditions are not specified therein, then notice shall be given by the city clerk by publication thereof in such form as is approved by the city council in the official newspaper of the city of Vallejo at least once within fifteen days after the action is taken by the city council, notice of which is required to be given.
