2.06.010 - Purpose.

Councilmembers may travel, from time to time, to places outside the city for purposes of official representation or to participate in educational or training programs beneficial to them in the performance of their duties and responsibilities as elected officials of the city.

2.06.020 - Travel allowance.

The amount of funds available for travel shall be established each year during the review and adoption of the budget section pertaining to council travel and shall be in effect during the fiscal year for which the budget was adopted.

2.06.030 - Reserved.

2.06.040 - Documentation.

A claim for travel shall be submitted by each council member within ninety days of the date the travel expense was incurred in accordance with the City of Vallejo's Expenditure and Reimbursement Policy for Elected and Appointed Officials. No council member, having failed to meet this requirement, may travel further at city expense until a proper claim is submitted in compliance with that policy. In submitting claims, council members shall comply with the procedures and policies set forth in the City of Vallejo's Expenditure and Reimbursement Policy for Elected and Appointed Officials, as revised from time to time with the concurrence of the city council, and no claim shall be paid or city funds expended except in accordance with the procedures outlined in said Policy, unless excused as provided in Section 2.06.060.

2.06.060 - Excusal.

All of the requirements of this chapter shall be followed unless excused for good and sufficient cause expressed in resolution or minute order adopted by the city council in public session at a regular or special meeting.
