24.10.2100 PURPOSE.

The purpose of this Historic Overlay District is to provide a means to preserve and enhance

areas of historic, architectural, and engineering significance located within the city of Santa Cruz. The Historic Overlay District shall be used in general accord with the policies and principles of the General Plan, as specified in the Historic Preservation Plan. (Ord. 85-05 § 1 (part), 1985).

24.10.2110 DESIGNATION.

This Historic District may be combined with any zoning district provided for in this title, Chapter 24.06. When established, the Historic Overlay District shall be shown on the zoning map following the zone designation with which it is combined, such as R-1-H, R-L-H, R-M-H, etc. When so designated, all development within said districts shall be subject to Historic Preservation provisions as set forth in Chapter 24.08, Part 10 (Historic Alteration Permit); Part 11, (Historic Demolition Permit); Section 24.12.450 (Procedure: New Construction in Historic Districts); and Chapter 24.12, Part 5 (Historic Preservation). 24.10.2120 GENERAL PROVISIONS.

When the H District, is applied, the historic preservation regulations listed in Part 5, Chapter 24.12 as well as those of the district with which the H District is combined shall apply. Where a conflict occurs, the regulations set forth in Part 5, Chapter 24.12 shall apply. (Ord. 85-05 § 1 (part), 1985).
