2.68.010 - Recruitment and training.

The county declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the state under the provisions of Section 13510 (as amended by Chapter 710 of the Statutes of 1981) and 13524, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part 4 of the California Penal Code. Pursuant to Section 13522, Chapter 1, the county will adhere to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. The county will allow the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training and its representatives to make such inquiries as deemed appropriate by the Commission, in order to ascertain whether the district attorney investigators have adhered to the standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training.

2.68.020 - Unclaimed personal property in possession of sheriff—Disposition.

Unclaimed personal property which is in the possession of the county sheriff for a period of four months may be transferred thereafter to the purchasing agent for disposition pursuant to Section 2.36.035 of this code. This section shall not apply to any property defined as a "dangerous weapon" under Penal Code Sections 12000, et seq.

"Unclaimed property" shall be defined for purposes of this section as personal property in the possession of the sheriff which is not claimed by the owner during the period prescribed herein, and which is not the subject of a finder's claim under Civil Code Section 2080 through 2080.3.

2.68.021 - Deposit of fees.

The sheriff shall, upon the completion of each weekly period of confinement, collect the fees authorized by Penal Code Section 1209, and deposit the funds so collected in the county general fund by way of deposit slip, through a revenue account established for the sheriff by the county auditor-controller. The maximum daily fee shall be established by board of supervisors' resolution in accordance with Penal Code Section 1209.

2.68.030 - Recruitment and training of public safety dispatchers.

The county declares that it desires to qualify to receive aid from the State of California under the provisions of Section 13522, Chapter 1, of Title 4, Part 4, of the California Penal Code. Pursuant to Section 13510 (c), Chapter 1, of the California Penal Code, the county will adhere to standards for recruitment and training established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) for Public Safety Dispatchers. Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, of the California Penalty Code, the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training and its representatives may make such inquiries as deemed appropriate to ascertain that the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office Public Safety Dispatcher Personnel adhere to established standards for selection and training.
