2.24.010 - Creation—Establishment.

A county planning commission in and for the county is established and created under and by the authority of Chapter 1800, Statutes of 1965, state of California, as required by Title 7, Chapter 3 of the Government Code. The planning commission, together with the board of supervisors and the department of planning and building, are designated as the "planning agency" of the county pursuant to section 65100 of the Government Code. The department of planning and building is designated to be the planning agency for the purpose of issuing conformity reports pursuant to Government Code Section 65402. The board of supervisors is designated to be the planning agency for the purpose of issuing conformity reports pursuant to Government Code Sections 65401 and 65403, paragraph(c).

2.24.020 - Membership.

The county planning commission shall consist of five members who are appointed by the board of supervisors to represent their respective supervisorial districts. Vacancies in membership shall be filled in the same manner for the unexpired portion of the terms as provided for the appointment of the planning commissioners.

2.24.030 - Term of office.

(a) Members of the planning commission appointed from each of the five districts shall serve at the pleasure of the board of supervisors, and, unless removed, for a term concurrent with the term of the respective supervisors representing said districts.

(b) Members of the planning commission appointed from each of the five districts may be removed by a majority vote of the board of supervisors after the respective supervisor has given the member from his or her district written notice of intention to remove.

2.24.040 - Powers and duties.

The planning commission, the planning agency and all members thereof shall have the power and duties provided for by Chapter 1880, Statutes of 1965 and amendments thereto or other statutes of the State of California delegating authority to the planning agency, the planning commission or any member thereof.
