2.16.010 - Appointment.

Pursuant to the authority contained in Section 27550 of the Government Code of the State of California, the county office of surveyor is made appointive, and shall be appointed by the board of supervisors from those persons serving within the department of public works and transportation who hold the required registration.

2.16.015 - Surveyor shall serve at the will of the board.

The person appointed as county surveyor shall hold such designation at the will and pleasure of the board of supervisors pursuant to Government Code Section 27550. This appointment shall not affect the classified civil service of a person designated to be county surveyor. To recognize this additional responsibility the appointee shall receive a five percent increase in salary during their tenure.
