Article 1

Definitions(Legislative History: Ordinance No. 2001-07, 3/19/01 (Sections 3-12-100, 3-12-105))

§ 3-12-100. FEED LOT.

"Feed Lot," as used in this Chapter, shall mean property, other than a holding pen or grazing land, where more than 10 cattle, sheep or swine are kept for any reason.

§ 3-12-105. HOLDING PEN.

"Holding pen," as used in this Chapter, shall mean property conforming to the rules and regulations of the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States where cattle, sheep or swine are held prior to slaughter.

§ 3-12-200. CLEANING.

Feed lots shall be cleaned of all animal odors and other putrescible material whenever necessary to comply with the provisions of Section 3-12-300 and 3-12-305, but no less than once per week.

§ 3-12-300. INSECTS.

No person shall create or maintain a condition on or in connection with the operation of, a feed lot, which causes the breeding of flies or other insects.

§ 3-12-305. ODORS.

No person shall create or maintain a condition on, or in connection with the operation of, a feed lot, which causes the emanation or dissemination beyond the boundaries of the feed lot of odors objectionable to a person of reasonable sensibilities.

§ 3-12-400. PUBLIC NUISANCE.

Any feed lot used or maintained in violation of any provision of this Chapter shall constitute a public nuisance and, in addition to other remedies provided by law, may be abated as such.
