§ 2.08.010 ELECTION—TERM OF OFFICE.

The office of the Mayor is hereby created and established. The Mayor shall be elected by the voters of the city at each general municipal election. The person elected at such election as Mayor shall hold office from the date the election results are certified and they are seated, until their successor is elected and qualifies.

§ 2.08.020 VACANCY.

In the case of a vacancy in the office of the Mayor for any reason, the Council shall fill the vacancy by appointment. If the Council fails to fill it within 30 days, it shall call an election to fill the vacancy to be held on the next established election date to be held not less than 74 days thereafter. A person appointed or elected to fill a vacancy shall hold office for the unexpired term of the former incumbent.

§ 2.08.030 ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFICE.

A person is not eligible to hold office as Mayor unless he or she is at the time of assuming such office an elector of the city, and was a registered voter of the city at the time nomination papers are issued to the candidate as provided for in Cal. Elections Code § 201.

§ 2.08.050 COMPENSATION.

The Mayor shall receive a salary of $350 per month. The salary of the Mayor may be changed in the manner provided by law.
