2.52.010 - Unclaimed property held by sheriff—Term.

Unclaimed property coming into the possession or control of the county sheriff shall be held by him for a period of at least four months, except for unclaimed bicycles, which shall be held for a period of at least three months.

2.52.020 - Disposition of unclaimed property.

After retaining unclaimed property for the period specified in Section 2.52.010, such property may be sold by the sheriff at public auction to the highest bidder, with notice of such sale being given at least five days before the time fixed therefor by publication once in a newspaper of general circulation published in the county.
