Mariposa County Municipal Code § 2.38 Administration And Personnel

There is hereby created in the county of Mariposa the department of Health and Human Services Agency. This agency shall be directed by a director of health and human services who shall be appointed by the board of supervisors at the recommendation of the county administrative officer, shall be a department head, and shall serve at the pleasure of the board of supervisors with direction and oversight from the county administrative officer.

This agency shall consist of the following divisions: health services division, human services division, and administrative services division.

1. The health services division of the health and human services agency shall be responsible for the administration, oversight, and operation over behavioral health and recovery services, community health, and environmental health programs for the county of Mariposa as legislatively directed by the board of supervisors and the State of California.

2. The human services division of the health and human services agency shall be responsible for the administration, oversight, and operation over Adult and Aging, Child Welfare Services, Housing Services and Support, Public Assistance, and Veteran’s Assistance programs as legislatively directed by the board of supervisors and the State of California.

3. The administrative services division of the heath and human services agency shall be responsible for the administration, oversight, and operation of transportation, fiscal, and staff training programs as legislatively directed by the board of supervisors and the State of California.

The health and human services agency shall be staffed as follows:

1. A director of health and human services who shall be responsible for the overall administration and operation of the agency. The director shall work under the director of the county administrative officer.

2. Three division directors, one for each of the respective health services, human services, and administrative services divisions shall work under the direction of the director of health and human services and shall be responsible for the operation of their respective divisions.

3. Such other employees as may be provided by the board of supervisors.
