Chapter 18.74 — H-R HYDROELECTRIC DISTRICT

§ 18.74.010. Intent.

This district classification is intended to be applied to land and water areas which are used or are suitable for use for the storing and releasing of water for hydroelectric purposes and all activities incidental thereto, e.g., agricultural irrigation, recreation, flood control, etc. (Ord. 467 § 59, 1984)

§ 18.74.020. Applicability.

The regulations set out in this chapter shall apply to all H-R districts and shall be subject to Chapters 18.102 through 18.108 of this title.

§ 18.74.030. Uses allowed by right.

Uses allowed by right in a H-R district shall be as follows:

  • (1) The storing and releasing of water in the reservoir for hydroelectric purposes, and all activities incidental to the reconstruction, operation and maintenance of the project;

  • (2) Preservation of wildlife habitat;

  • (3) Recreation activity consistent with the primary purpose of hydroelectric project, including docks;

  • (4) Hydroelectric power plants five megawatts or less.

  • (5) Such other uses as may be determined by the community development director to be consistent with the foregoing uses and the purposes of the H-R district.

§ 18.74.040. Uses allowed by use permit.

Uses allowed by use permit in a H-R district shall be as follows: hydroelectric power plants greater than five megawatts.
