Chapter 18.60 — O-H HISTORICAL SITE DISTRICT

§ 18.60.010. Intent. ¶

The O-H district is intended for areas which:

(1) Have a special character or historical value;
(2) Have been designated as an historic district by any local, state or federal agency; or
(3) Have a special archaeological or prehistoric significance.

It is intended to provide protection for these historic, prehistoric or archaeological resources, which, in the absence of such protection, may be irretrievably lost to the citizens of the county, the state and the nation. Also, the O-H district is intended to provide for the display, study and research of such resource areas.

§ 18.60.020. Applicability. ¶

The regulations set out in this chapter shall apply in all O-H districts and shall be subject to Chapters 18.102 through 18.108 of this title.

§ 18.60.030. Uses allowed by right. ¶

Uses allowed by right in an O-H district shall be as follows:

(1) Markers and monuments;
(2) Fencing, sheltering, and otherwise providing protection for cultural resources;
(3) Archaeological excavations when associated with a university, foundation or organization dedicated to the study, preservation, and protection of archaeological resources.

§ 18.60.040. Uses allowed by use permit. ¶

Uses allowed by use permit in an O-H district shall be as follows:

(1) Curio shops;
(2) Museums;
(3) Caretaker's residence; provided, that the permitted use requires the continuous supervision of a caretaker, superintendent, or security persons, and the residence is to be occupied only by such person and his family.
