13.48.650 - Designated special use areas.¶
A. Each swimming lagoon in the recreation area is established as a special use area for primary use for swimming, because it is in the public interest that such swimming lagoons be developed and maintained with various amenities and environmental features appropriate for swimming, and because certain other activities, such as boating and waterskiing, are not compatible with such primary use.
B. Local regulations, rules and orders are necessary in conjunction with such special use area for all of the reasons aforementioned.
C. As used in this section, the term "swimming" also includes bathing, wading and scuba diving, and the term "swimmer" also includes persons engaged in such activities.

13.48.660 - Prohibited uses.¶
A. It constitutes a misdemeanor to place, use or operate a boat on any swimming lagoon.
B. It constitutes a misdemeanor to use or ride any water skis on any swimming lagoon.
C. It constitutes a misdemeanor to use the waters of any swimming lagoon to land or takeoff an aircraft, or to operate an aircraft on the waters thereof.

13.48.670 - Exception—Inflatable boats.¶
A. Inflatable boats (including inflatable rafts or floats), not equipped for propulsion by motor power, may be used on a swimming lagoon, when authorized by a regulation, rule or order, and subject to any prohibitions, limitations and regulations therein.
B. Such inflatable boats, floats and rafts may be classified for such purposes according to various considerations such as size, weight, buoyancy, number of compartments, thickness and resistance to puncture of compartment walls, and other features as may affect safety of the user or which may be detrimental to swimming activities.

13.48.680 - Exception—Styrofoam boats.¶
A. Boats, floats or rafts made of Styrofoam and like material, not equipped for propulsion by motor power, may be used on a swimming lagoon, when authorized by a rule or order, and subject to any prohibitions, limitations and regulations therein.
B. Such boats, floats or rafts may be classified for such purposes according to various considerations such as size, weight, buoyancy and other features as may affect safety of the user or which may be detrimental to swimming activities.

13.48.690 - Exception—Model boats.¶
A. Model boats may be used on a swimming lagoon, when authorized by a regulation, rule or order, and subject to any prohibitions, limitations and regulations therein.
B. Such model boats may be classified for such purposes according to various considerations, such as size, speed, means of propulsion, effectiveness of controls and other features as may be detrimental to swimming activities.

13.48.700 - Exception—Exhibitions and aquatic events.¶
A. Any prohibition contained in this article may be suspended by regulations of the board or by orders or rules of the director in connection with any exhibition or other aquatic event.
