2.16.010 - Office created.¶
Pursuant to Section 8000 et seq. of the Welfare and Institutions Code, the office of public guardian of the county is created to perform the duties imposed upon that office by the provisions of Section 8000 et seq. of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state and any other duties imposed upon such office by law.

2.16.020 - Duties.¶
Except as otherwise provided by law, the public guardian may act as the guardian and conservator of the person and/or estate of any person.

2.16.030 - Appointment.¶
The board of supervisors may, by resolution, appoint a public guardian to fill the office created by this chapter.

2.16.040 - Deputies.¶
The public guardian is authorized to appoint such deputy public guardians as he deems necessary to assist him in carrying out his duties under this chapter. Such appointments shall be subject to approval by the board of supervisors.

2.16.050 - Bond.¶
The public guardian shall file an official bond in the amount of five thousand dollars. The amount of the bond may be changed from time to time by resolution of the board of supervisors.

2.16.060 - Compensation.¶
The board of supervisors may, by resolution, set the amount of compensation to be paid to the public guardian for services rendered under this chapter.

2.16.070 - Disposition of fees.¶
Fees allowed by a court to be paid to the public guardian out of the guardianship or conservatorship estate, or as otherwise provided by law, shall be deposited by the public guardian into the general fund of the county.
