13.70.010 - Check cashing permits required.¶

Every person engaged in the business of cashing checks, warrants, drafts, money orders, or other commercial paper serving the same purpose who receives compensation for this service in whole or in part, shall provide proof of a state of California Check Casher's Permit, in accordance with California Civil Code, Title 1.6F, Section 1789.37(a) enacted on January 1, 1995, before a business license can be issued.
