11.36.010 - Stop signs—Erection.¶
Whenever the city council adopts a resolution designating any street or portion thereof as a through street, or whenever an intersection exists at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the city engineer shall erect and maintain a stop sign on each and every street so designated, and at those entrances or other intersections where a stop is required. Every such sign shall conform with and shall be placed as provided in the Vehicle Code.

11.36.020 - Stop signs—Obedience required.¶
A. Those streets and parts of streets described by resolution of the council, and those streets and parts of streets designated and signed by the city as through streets, are declared to be through streets for the purposes of this section.
B. The provisions of this section shall apply at one or more entrances to the intersections as such entrances and intersections have been designated and signed by the city, or as may be hereafter described by resolution of the council.
C. When stop signs are erected at the entrance to any intersection, as provided in section 11.36.010, every driver of a vehicle shall stop, as required by the Vehicle Code and this title.
