Camarillo Municipal Code Ch. 11.44 Commercial Vehicles

For the purposes of this chapter, "commercial vehicles" means any vehicle exceeding a gross weight of six thousand pounds and used for or in conjunction with picking up or collection of rubbish, trash or other waste material or the delivering of goods, wares or merchandise.

Within that portion of the city zoned for residential use as designated in this code no person shall use any commercial vehicle except between the hours of seven a.m. of one day and seven p.m. of the same day.

The provisions of this chapter shall not prohibit the following uses:

A. The driving through of a commercial vehicle without making any pickup or delivery;

B. The use of any commercial vehicle for the delivery of milk, dairy products or other food product to any resident for the use by such resident when such vehicle is used upon a fixed route within the area and delivery reasonably cannot be made between the hours of seven a.m. and seven p.m.;

C. The use of a commercial vehicle at any time when such use is necessary by reason of an emergency condition which endangers the public peace, health, safety or general welfare;

D. The use of commercial vehicles from which foodstuff ready to eat is sold directly to the consumer; provided, however, that no such commercial vehicle shall use any sound equipment or device in such a manner that a reasonable person of normal sensitiveness residing in the area is caused discomfort or annoyance and in no event shall such vehicle used be used later than ten p.m.
