SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS

17.88.010 Purpose. The purpose of this Chapter is to establish standards for the location, site planning, development, and operations of certain land uses that are allowed by Article 2, Zoning Districts and Allowable Land Uses, within individual or multiple districts, and for activities that require special standards to minimize the impacts of these uses and activities on surrounding properties and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of their occupants and of the general public.

B. Other Renewable Energy Systems. Other types of renewable energy systems may be allowed in all districts subject to Conditional Use Permit approval (Ord. 3471 § 15, 2024).
17.88.020 Applicability. The requirements contained in this Chapter shall apply to all solar energy system uses.
17.88.030 Permit Required. All solar energy system uses shall be subject to approval of the specified permit as detailed in the use tables in Article 2.
17.88.040 Development and Operational Standards. ¶
A. Solar Energy Systems.
- Height, Ground-Mounted Solar Energy Systems. The maximum height of a groundmounted solar energy collector system is 15 feet or the maximum height allowed in the base or overlay district, whichever is less. 2. Required Setback.
