17.72.010 Purpose . The purpose of this Chapter is to establish standards for the location, site planning, development, and operations of certain land uses that are allowed by Article 2, Zoning Districts and Allowable Land Uses, within individual or multiple districts, and for activities that require special standards to minimize the impacts of these uses and activities on surrounding properties and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of their occupants and of the general public. In addition the purpose is to "fast-track" film permits through the permitting process in order to expedite movie, television, commercial, and other cinematic or video productions. The regulations set forth in this Chapter shall modify or supplement the zoning district regulations appearing elsewhere in this title related to movie sets.
B. Permanent motion picture and television stage sets and scenery may be permitted in any district provided a use permit is first secured.
17.72.020 Applicability. The requirements ¶
contained in this Chapter shall apply to all movie sets.
17.72.030 Permit Required. All movie set ¶
uses shall be subject to approval of the specified permit as detailed in the use tables in Article 2.
17.72.040 Development and Operational Standards. ¶
A. Temporary motion picture and television stage sets and scenery are permitted in all districts provided said structures are removed within 90 days of their erection.
